Kiacert (Ampliora product): Hundreds of verifiable certificates in minutes
Kiacert turns one certificate design and an attendee list into hundreds of finished certificates, emails each person their copy, and gives every certificate a QR code that proves it is real. Built for event organisers, trainers, bootcamps and schools.
Event organisers, training companies, bootcamps, churches and schools across Nigeria issue anywhere from 20 to 2,000 certificates per event, and most still make them by hand: typing each name into Canva, Word mail merge or Google Slides, then attaching PDFs to emails one at a time.
Mistakes are common and public. Names in ALL CAPS, misspelt names, Yoruba and Igbo letters that print as boxes, and emails sent to gmial.com are the errors attendees remember. And once a certificate is out, nobody can check whether it is genuine.
A first version of Kiacert proved the idea using Google Slides, Sheets and Gmail, but it ran in the browser tab, slowed down on big events, was limited by Gmail’s sending caps and kept units and admin checks where users could tamper with them. We rebuilt it as a proper product.
What we built
We designed and built Kiacert from the ground up: a certificate editor, a step-by-step run wizard that checks every row before any units are spent, background generation that keeps going after the tab is closed, email delivery with tracking, public verification pages with QR codes, and pay-as-you-go pricing in naira through Paystack.
Inside the build
- Certificate editor: Upload a design made in Canva, Word, Photoshop or anything else as PNG, JPG or PDF, then drag the name, date, course and QR code into place with snapping, sample data and a true PDF preview.
- Names printed properly: 14 certificate fonts trimmed for Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa letters and the naira sign, plus custom font upload. Long names shrink to fit, and the editor warns about any missing letters.
- Smart list checks: Fixes ALL CAPS and lowercase names while keeping deliberate spellings and accents, catches email typos like gmial.com and yahoo.con, and flags duplicates and names one or two letters apart.
- Step-by-step run wizard: Pick a design, add a list, match columns, review every check, choose who gets a certificate with a live units counter, then confirm. Nothing is charged until the run starts.
- Close the tab, it keeps going: Runs happen in the background with live progress. 2,000 certificates take about 20 seconds and 5,000 under a minute, delivered as one merged PDF for printing and ZIPs of individual files.
- Email delivery with tracking: Each attendee gets an email from the organiser’s name with a button to their certificate. Delivered, bounced and spam reports show on the run page, with one-click resend and address fixes.
- QR verification: Every certificate carries a unique ID that cannot be guessed and a QR code to a public verify page with download and Add to LinkedIn. Revoked certificates show as revoked.
- Pay as you go in naira: Buy units with card, bank transfer or USSD through Paystack. One unit makes one certificate, emailing and verification included, and certificates that fail are refunded automatically.
- Free attendee list checker: A free public tool that checks and cleans any attendee list in seconds, entirely in the browser, and brings new organisers to the product.
