Leathersom: A leather goods store where every bag floats and turns in 3D

An online store for Leathersom, a Nigerian leather goods brand. Each bag floats over a warm glow on the homepage, opens into a 3D view you can turn with a finger, and changes colour on the spot.

Leathersom makes handbags with croc and snake-embossed leather. Texture and finish are the whole point, and flat product photos on a white background lose most of that.

Most of the brand’s customers find it on Instagram and WhatsApp, on their phones. The store had to feel as premium as the bags, load quickly, and give every bag and colour a link worth sharing.

What we built

We built a store that treats each bag like a showpiece. The homepage floats every piece over a slow, warm glow that follows the mouse; on phones it becomes a swipeable reel. Opening a bag flies it to full size, then hands over to a 3D model you can turn, recoloured in the browser for each colour the bag comes in.

Inside the build

  • Floating homepage: Every bag floats over a warm glow, moving with the mouse and scrolling at its own speed.
  • Swipeable phone reel: One bag at a time, following your finger, with the pieces above and below still in view.
  • 3D product view: Turn each bag with a finger or the mouse to see the croc and snake textures from every side.
  • Colour on the spot: Pick a colour and the bag and the glow behind it change straight away, with stock shown for each colour.
  • Links worth sharing: Every bag and colour has its own address, like /bag/satchel?colour=red, ready for WhatsApp and Instagram.
  • Index and bag: An index of every piece with prices in naira, and a bag that remembers what you picked.
